Hi, I'm Nina Iordanova and this is the 41st edition of Something Good, a newsletter filtered through my 🧠, 🖐, and ❤️. Coming your way every two weeks, I hope you find something good here.
Wow, this is the 41st edition of Something Good! What a weird, made-up sounding number. Try saying it out loud - forty-first - very weird, do not like!
I’ve been trying to get over myself and what other people think enough to make a TikTok. I have both some weird and experimental ideas and also some very mundane and self-absorbed ones and I don’t know which one I’m more embarrassed about.
I keep telling myself I’ll do it when I move to my new place because it has more space to set up a camera and has a big blue wall which could be a nice backdrop (yes, if you think this sounds like an excuse and is totally irrelevant, you’re absolutely right). It also makes it feel like the time for action is so close… just not right now.
Speaking of, I did find a new place! I’ll be moving end of December.
It’s not everything I dreamed of, but it has all the most important things. Floor to ceiling windows, wider than it is long (important for light purposes), smart layout. It’s pretty much the twin of my current place but in a building on the other end of the neighbourhood and 100 sq ft bigger. And it has a blue wall.
Here are photos from the listing, so before I move in!
Niloo and I are going to a transcendental meditation retreat this weekend for her birthday! I’m going to be driving by myself for only the second time in my life. It will be a roughly 7 minute drive between picking up the rental car and getting to Niloo’s house. It’s going to be soooooooo fine. I think the day I get comfortable with driving is the day I will actually transcend from this entire planet.
Last update: Gemma got her period lol. This small dog is now wandering around the house with a flashlight on her front end and a diaper on her back end. She’s not allowed to see her friends for a couple of months (in case those friends accidentally turn into puppy daddies) so we’re wandering around the neighbourhood practicing being good on a leash.
Walking around doesn't wear her out as much as playing with her friends, so that plus her new need to pee every 2 hours means we’re both very off-schedule. What a weird weird experience to be living with a dog on their period.
I also thought she was becoming more cuddly because she is finally ready to love me. Incorrect.
Okay, please excuse me while I go do some shopping therapy.
I hope this was not a snuff newsletter and I will survive the 7 minute drive to Niloo’s house.
We will only know 2 weeks from now.
Send me good gas and brakes vibes. 🚗💭
✨
Warmly yours,
Nina
