Hi! I missed publishing the last edition of Something Good. The last few weeks have been so full of things to do, but reflecting and writing have not been one of them.
I’ve enjoyed being on the go. To just think, “This is fun,” and not look for the stories or even delve too deeply into my own experience. After what’s felt like months/years (? who knows) of craving my own time and space, it’s been a joy to be constantly with other people. Just to enjoy the experience for what it is.
It’s also made me want to re-evaluate how I’m spending my time. While there’s been a huge joy in saying “yes” to everything, I feel a little overcommitted. I want to get clear on the things that are important to me right now, and then make sure I have the time and energy to be with them fully. Where it feels like I’m choosing to do them vs. constantly running from one thing to another.
And I want to make sure there’s spaciousness in the way I’m spending my time.
So I’m going to pause Something Good (and all paid subscriptions) for a bit.
It’s kinda like when you think you can fill a backpack with all the things, try 10 different ways to jam them in, then realize you have to take them all out and actually think about how they’ll fit.
(And that it would also be nice if you could zip the backpack up when you’re done)
I’m going to rebuild my weeks in the same way, by cutting everything out and re-adding what fits one by one.
So I hope to see you soon!
In the meantime, if you’re in Toronto - I’m going to be speaking at Fuckup Nights at Stackt Market on Feb 13.
